About Alan

Alan Kilpatrick, CD, BA, MLIS, is a library director and an information professional with experience in legal, government, and academic libraries, and is a former Army Reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces.

With a demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, Alan integrates information services, resources, and expertise to deliver meaningful value to his clients. He brings fresh ideas, energy, and strategic focus to the development and delivery of information services.

Alan has a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vancouver Island University. During his graduate studies, he was selected by peers, colleagues, and fellow students to receive the Spirit of Librarianship Award in 2012. The award recognizes the student who best represents the collegial spirit of librarianship and acknowledges strong contribution and service to the library community. He carries this same spirit into his professional practice.

Alan is the Co-Director of the Law Society of Saskatchewan’s Legal Resources department. He has served on the Canadian Association of Law Libraries Board (Member-at-Large), Multitype Library Board (Special Library Director Representative), and the Saskatchewan Library Association Board (Member-at-Large).  You can find his curriculum vitae (CV) online here.
